In a few hours the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olymics in Brazil will be opened officially. In this thread you may share your thoughts, shout out publically supporting your favorite sport athletes, teams and share whatever you like (within the site and FM ToS), like interesting facts, figures and articles.


A few figures about these Olympic Games:

It's the first time the Olympic Games are being held in South America;
The opening ceremony will be held @ the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;
10,500 athletes from all over the world will try to break Olympic, World, National and Personal Best records;
242 athletes from The Netherlands participate.

Just watched gymnastics. What better day for a man to break his leg @ Rio. This made me feel REAL sick when I saw it!

OH NOOO!!! Ugly crash near the finish.... Theo just got 1,600 lbs of horse muscle on his back @ 20 mph... Poor Zidane.... And Theo got lucky he can still walk ... They left the race Well, that's cross-country alright, pushing the limits in an endurance race, both horse and human.
