I was honestly considering this, but I still don't get how to install it. And on top of that, I want to leave FMD with it's unique trademark design (not imitate it).

You install the theme by creating an HTML page which contains the installer code. FA Edge is more of a new non-official forum version ( or just a really heavily modified phpbb3 ), so the design isn't really unique. I use the default design on FMD to showcase Forumactif Edge. You're free to modify the theme however you see fit since the code is open source.
