The only time I add multiple layers is if I'm trying to add a certain effect, like a gloss or something. Other then that I'm usually adjusting gradients to get a smooth color transition. I thought the shadow was going to be a bit much, but you don't really notice it.

I see, I usually just have 2-3 layers as well, the one with the base shape usually have layer styles (in mine), some inner shadow glow gradient overlay etc Very Happy
Im currently working on buttons like Mac and will share! Very Happy
