Hmm.. well with the existing structure of your markup it'd be kind of hard to figure out what's what with JavaScript and then separate everything.. Plus since you're managing the links manually just one wrong move could cause an error and break everything. Would a scroll bar suffice instead for what you're trying to achieve ?

P.S.
Don't take it the wrong way if I don't reply immediately. Many other people ask me questions ( even by pm and other forums ) and I'm also managing projects, so I don't always have time to answer everyone and sometimes I forget as well.
