Forumotion command-line tool [Beta Test]
Page 1 of 1 • Share
One of the projects I'm working on from time-to-time is a command-line interpreter for forumotion forums. The CMD tool allows you to perform certain tasks by writing a few simple commands. Take the image below as an example :
The tool is embedded into an HTML page so that it can be easily accessed and managed. Anyway, it's not exactly "production ready" which is why I'm announcing it here in the testing grounds -- you get to test it ! As well as help me catch pesky bugs and provide suggestions for improving the tool. If you want to give this tool a test on your forum, you can find the installation instructions here :
https://github.com/SethClydesdale/fa-cmd#installation
If you don't want to test it on your forum, you can also test it here by clicking "CMD" from the navbar or navigating to this page :

Some things to test are :
If you have any questions, suggestions, or find a bug, feel free to leave a reply below.

Some things to test are :
- Every available command ( obviously )
- Type HELP to see all commands - Test commands by typing them as uppercase and lowercase
- Commands should be case-insensitive, if they don't work in uppercase that's a bug ! - Test commands that take a value and use varying inputs. ( e.g. COLOR, GOTO, SEARCHTOPIC... )
- Try different characters, special characters etc.. If something goes wonky make sure to report it !
If you have any questions, suggestions, or find a bug, feel free to leave a reply below.
Yep, it's a little loony experiment I cooked up, probably will never meet production.
Commands from the native command line don't work because this is built separately using JavaScript which has limitations.
