[SOLVED] Moderation Template?

Hello,

I wanted to know if anyone knew of any moderation templates? I mean sort of like the ones on the support forum as well as on many others. I thought I already had some, but I guess I didnt. I know it is pretty much a table, I used to do a make shift one 3 years ago, but have since forgot.

Of course, except the graphical portion is all done through the CSS this time. You can change the colors, images.. This should help if you want to get a certain color code : http://www.colorpicker.com/

The color property changes the color of the text. I'm sure you know where to change the color code there, right ?

That looks good.

You can use them for anything, really. The green one for good messages, red one for bad messages, and blue one for other types of messages. It depends on what you want to use them for !

I know thanks Ange, I wanted to show the real thing, but thing didnt work on this forum (I imagine that is because that css is not installed),and i wad feeling to lazy to go upstairs and get my flash drive for a screenshot (as the pc never lets me save images without it).

Yes, I don't have the CSS installed here. I'll be updating the theme soon, so I do not want to add too many personal things at the moment. However, I have an Idea what it might look like.

I know right, can not wait to see this new theme.

The colors are similar to the current, but with some additional features, fixed bugs, and updated images. It might take a bit of time, because I have a lot of other projects to work on that take priority, especially those support related..

You make the theme yourself right? By the way is there a code to automatically re size avatars on phpbb 2? I have widget that really big imagines will be out of line.

Yep, I start with the default phpbb3 skin, then I start writing CSS for the theme.. After that I work on graphics.

Uhmm.. I think this will resize the profile avatars for you. Only if they exceed 150*150.

Thank You, this is what I needed, Thanks again Ange, since everyone has apparently upgraded to phpbb3 it is hard to find codes for it. My other admin Samantha pointed out the issue and suggested the code. I knew exactly to go to for it.

Well, with some devtools and knowledge of the Document Object Model, you can really style anything. PhpBB2 is a bit more difficult because almost all elements have the same classname, or they don't have a classname at all ! It's a good version to pick if you like the old school style, or are looking for a fix up challenge. PhpBB3 offers a wider range of classnames and IDs to style them with CSS, or manipulate them with JavaScript. With the ability to finally customize the templates, it offers a whole new level of customization.

Indeed, You guys make Phpbb2 sound so bad, I know a couple people who's forums still work off of PHPBB.

That was my first try at it... and if you consider the fact that I came up with that while I was viewing my forum from my WII then it is pretty impressive.

LOL yeah, a lot of us don't like the look of table layouts anymore. They're still useful for certain things though, like databases and stuff. I don't mind them myself.

If you want to get really in depth of designing themes, or tables like that, you should read up on CSS. It's one of the most important things for web design, right next to HTML. Those tutorials are great for beginners with all the interactive examples. It was what kickstarted my learning years ago when I knew nothing.

The wii ? I think that might have a worse browser than my PS3.. when I was developing a browser game the PS3 couldn't even handle it. Don't get me started on the PSP that thing is like worse than the older versions of internet explorer. I think the PS3 was using webkit if I recall, even then it was pretty laggy. Well, what can I expect, they're not dedicated browsers.

Thanks for the tip Ange, The wii uses a simiplifed version of Oprah. It was not that bad for a basic console. Just could not copy and paste, store images, oh 1 time I had this spam bot on my forum, it took me 20 minutes to remove the text then ban it. I have no idea why I did not just delete the post. LOL. Ah good times those were.
