Images look cute :3 I don't think it'd be an issue if we have image size restrictions for it? And since not everyone can use PS or whatever other program to design one, I don't think there would be any inappropriate images up. 
I could make a thread to design custom ones for FMD Members to make sure nothing that is inappropriate is used.

I suppose it wouldn't be a problem if restrictions were set in place -- even for styling the texts.. It'd give people more freedom to customize their profiles. Still, I'd have to think over it and maybe even add a rule about impersonating special staff ranks if I were to allow this. I'll reconsider the idea.

But I am in love with the idea, especially if dimensions were given out to make your own badge. That could be a cool little tutorial thread for building custom badge ranks.

Or maybe we could have a process that the members would have to go through - if they have their own rank they want to use, they'd fill out a form (found in a thread that I can set up, or Leah can since she's the head of the Graphic Design team) and post it in the thread OR PM it to a Graphic Designer for approval. If the rank is approved, the Graphic Designer will go into the user's profile and put the image in for them (so basically, the field would only be editable by someone on the Staff team, not the members).
If they request a rank to be designed for them, then a Graphic Designer would either accept or decline the request depending on the rank title they want. And if it's approved, the Graphic Designer will upload the rank to the member's profile. If the request is declined, the member will have to fix their form and resubmit the request.

Idk. Just basing this off of how Hae and I work with stuff on Canvas ><' But it's still totally up to you Ange since this is your forum xD

I believe Leah took down the Auction section cuz it didn't do so well.. Plus, making pre-made ones takes away from the freedom and fun of customizing your own personal one that fits your personality/tastes/preferences/etc.

Well perhaps that's a promise to our users to consider taking it back again and do something with our points, like the webshop idea we had earlier on ending up in a dead-end auction section. It's just a thought. AND you could have a couple of templates made up as a GD on FMD to later be filled in to custom needs by our members, like styling, colors and texts.

I'm sorry to say, but sometimes you need to think out-of-the-box to get things right. I don't mean to sound rude, but sometimes i's good to have a little discussion over this before ruling your new scepter. You're part of his pride now and there's a lot more at stake here and now than that tiny lil' glitch he has in that coding, I've known for so long already. I'm with Ange he needs to think things over. He's in charge here and all for good causes. This isn't all about playing games and fooling around yk. He means serious business.

It's customizing profiles, something which we've learned from Canvas, is wanted heavily.

@Samantha NL We could always just create a thread for custom-made ranks, that the members would have to 'purchase' with their points. The more complex/detailed a request is, the more points it will cost. I don't think it'd fit in the Auction area though, cuz it isn't exactly an auction, really. I still find using pre-made ones very limiting for the members. I don't think a guy would want a ribbon for their rank.. LOL. The more freedom members have to customize their ranks, the more they will be interested in having one. Ofc there would be certain restrictions and rules to follow.
I don't see it as a game - I see it as a way to give members more to do on the forum. Something to get them just a littleee bit more involved or interested. And trust me, I know this is something Ange takes very seriously, hence why I said the decision is still totally up to him. I'm just spitting out ideas to possibly make the decision-making process a little easier.

Blah. Sounded like a new idea? I just told you. Template the bit and you're up and running for new request ONCE Ange agrees. Put up a vote for a couple of designs and have Ange choose some too. Everyone happy, at the cost of a couple of points a request. Ange won't be bothered, you know what to do (and have something to do) and our members will be pleased. Easy as pie, IFFFFF he agrees.

Something I should've thought about before is that you can test a string for certain words, and deny that string if it matches something that should be excluded. ( e.g. admin, mod.. ) Still if someone were to impersonate staff we can always issue a reminder, then warning for repeat offences.

I like the idea, although I'd prefer keeping the field editable to the member in case they just want a plain text rank or something. Still admins, mods, designers, should be able to edit the field as well since they have moderation rights, which would allow the idea to work both ways. Just to let you guys know, I've lifted some restrictions on the personal titles, but I've added some new ones as well. The changes are listed below.

• Ranks can be styled again.
  
• Font size is restricted to 12px.
  
• Image dimensions can be up to a maximum of 140*50 pixels.
  
• Some special words have been forbidden from use.
  

I've decided to allow more indepth customization of ranks, but there are some restrictions to prevent breaking the forum, impersonation, etc.. If you guys notice anything that should be restricted, or even manage to break this, lemme know and I'll fix it.

Pink used to be my favorite color when I was a kid. Now it's black (which isn't a color, technically speaking). And I hate the colors of yellow and green, especially green (can't stand it. You'll never gonna see me wear anything green, ever. Period.).
