I have seen many members ask about removing, hiding, modifying etc. this or that.

There are somethings that you can not modify, remove, hide, etc.

Footer Links can only be modified by using credits.  Even when you use credits, some links have to remain.  You can add your own links, too.

FAQ page can not be modified.  You are only allowed to add to it.

Registration Pages are the same as the FAQ page.  The only exception is that you can add rules and customized profile fields.

Forumotion's copyright in the toolbar can only be modified after using credits.

If you are using a loading page without your forum's header and footer, you have to add a link to Forumotion.

Yes, these are important to discuss!  We've already seen two staff members (staff on the English Support Forum) breaching their own company's Terms of Service in just the last two weeks alone--so we can all make this mistake!

I think it is time for people to look into these topics and discuss them more in the future.  ^^  We all have a tendency to forget the rules, it would seem.  Don't forget, FMD Members!  We should all read the Terms of Service for any host that we use and then re-read them months later to refresh our memories.  It will also save time in the support section, since all we will be doing in the community on FMD is declining requests that ask for codes that go against Forumotion's ToS.

Even if you have already read them recently, you should consider having another look through, just to be on the safe side!  You can read them below.
Thank you for your understanding!

Don't try this at home Razz A couple of days ago I was looking for a solution to creating a footer link on someone's phpBB2 board and try to hide it on his mobile version. So I Googled 'footer forumotion hide' and guess what... Shocked

I wonder what FM is doing about these kind of boards that have long been forgotten and deserted but seemingly still show their nasty crap.

Oh yeah I found those forums before when I tried searching the code in google to locate its origin. Needless to say they need to be banhammered. Twisted Evil

I also do the same with my codes sometimes, so see who reposted my tutorials. Shifty

That's why I'm not a huge fan of affiliating other sites. Firstly, before affiliating one needs to check their content (and keep checking it regularly after affiliating) and secondly I never affiliated boards that have their content visible to members only, especially the tech related ones. I don't want to be a culprit in other people's crimes.

Erm... Did you move? I just noticed you changed your location :/

Haha I know, I'm not quite fond of forums that do "reply to see the code", because most of the time it's just taken from somewhere else without prior permission from the original author, so they can generate activity from that person's work. Plus you never know what's hiding like you say, but I remember there was one forum that did that with an advert hiding code. Thankfully they removed it now. silent

Naw, I'm just being more specific.
