Yes you can install it for phpbb 2.

Just follow the installation guide here: https://fmdesign.forumotion.com/t281-installation-a-database-for-your-forumotion-forum

make sure you install the LATEST version of it because the rest of them are not designed to work with phpbb2 without errors.

Ok , each post on the installation is a new version. The last post is the one you want to install.

I have a phpbb2 forum and a phpbb2 test forum to test codes for it. I have the database installed.

The database can work for phpbb2, however, the like system can not as it is designed only for only phpbb 3 sorry Sad.

The shoutbox will work on phpbb2 though, which makes it useful to phpbb2 users Very Happy.

The purpose of a database is to simply store data for use on the website. Take fully fledged databases as an example, such as SQL. I'm fairly confident that Forumotion is using a mySQL database for every forum. This database stores your posts, avatar, etc.. Wink

The database project here is not really a database in itself as it's only using a topic to store temporary data. If you have a large community, I don't recommend using it.
