Hi @jlmic,

This should be possible to achieve with a small snippet of JavaScript and CSS. Go to Admin Panel > Modules > JS codes management and create a new script with the following settings.

Placement : In all the pages ( or index and sub-forums only )
Code:
$(function() {
  $('.forum-lastpost').has('a[href$="?view=newest"]').addClass('new-lastpost');
});

Save the script, and then add the following snippet of CSS to your stylesheet.
Display > Colors > CSS stylesheet
Code:
.new-lastpost {
  background:rgba(255, 255, 0, 0.3);
}

Let me know if you have any questions. Wink
