Any news on the Themes Auction Project (TAP) yet?

Not yet. ^^ Everything is set up and ready to go, so we'll be starting our first auction on September the 1st. I'll be sure to post up more information a few days before!

And also this auction thing, will people really be auctioning real money or just made up points here?

Points. And some of the themes come without CSS and / or JS. We can always make it fit the 4 versions that are out there.

Our first theme auction will take place on September 1st, starting at 3pm CST!
It'll run for about 48 hours and this will be an images-only theme, so you don't want to bid unless you're willing to put the work behind the theme and code it. ^^

So basically an image-only theme is just a theme, exactly like coming from a Hitskin process, which doesn't involve any codes being provided, but just a direct apply, or whatever the term is called.

I actually look forward to it though, I mean the preview is black, I've always wanted a black theme that could suitably fit in a phpBB 3.

Yeah, it's a real bummer that it's not coded--but I'm learning coding so that I can learn to code these, myself. When I can actually make the features I have in mind happen, I will be more than happy to auction off more themes that will include coding. ^^

I also prefer dark-based themes! ^^ I use them on my phpBB3 forum all the time. In fact, I don't think my forum has EVER been light-based, so I guess I really am super biased...I tend to make more dark-based themes than I do light ones.
