About Theme Auctions
In this area, personal theme designs will be made for those that wish to bid for them. All submitted themes that are up for auction will be using a layout (which will be explained below) and will have different prices, a different number of images, and so on. Some will already be coded, but others you will have to code yourself. Themes without codes will basically only be image sets and PSD files are not required to be shared by the artist, unless he or she decides to provide it to the highest bidder of the theme. The purpose of this section is to provide members (those that have at least fifteen posts on the forum) with the opportunity to grab at a custom theme for their own personal use so that they can have individuality for their own forum, rather than using the commonly found themes on Hitskin and other similar sites. These themes or theme concepts are for the highest bidder only, so as to guarantee the buyer a one-of-a-kind design for their board. Additionally, all purchases will be made via forum currency--FM Design currency.
Bidding Procedures
--Two to three days before a theme is placed up for auction, a post will be made by the artist to notify of an upcoming auction.--After an auction is opened, you will have 24-48 hours to bid via post in the auction thread.
--After the bidding is complete, the buyer and artist will communicate via PM so that the artist can email the buyer with all images and/or codes, set up/installation information, and discuss any edits or additions needed for the theme.
--Requests for editing can be made by the buyer for up to one week after the auction date for customization purposes.
Theme Auction Rules
--You cannot submit themes to be auctioned unless you are an approved designer by the forum's staff.--Do not request edits to a theme from the theme's artist or coder after a week has passed.
--Every theme submission will include a copyrights code, which will place the names of the artist and/or coder at the bottom of the forum. This is required to use after purchase.
--No plagiarism through claiming the artwork, sharing images to other forums without permission, or posting any theme elsewhere other than on the purchaser's forum. (This also means you cannot submit your theme on Hitskin.)
Theme Layout Explanation
Theme TitleHere you would enter the theme's title and a brief description of what to expect when viewing the images and/or codes.
Auction Time
This will give the time (with time zone specification) and days that the auction will be open.
Default Theme Price
This will be the starting price for the theme. You cannot bid lower than the asking price. Themes with codes will have higher value.
Theme Version
If this theme has coding for a specific version or a design is recommended for a specific version, it will be listed here.
Coding Support
This will tell you if codes are provided with the theme's images or not.
Color Support
Most themes have anywhere from 2-3 primary colors. If color support is provided, this means the artist is willing to change the primary color or two into a different shade. (Such as if you like the design of a green and white theme that is posted, but you want it in red and white, instead.)
Copyrights Code
This is the code that you are required to use with your theme. It will consist of a special note somewhere on your homepage that gives credit to the artist(s) and coder(s). This may be replaced with an artist's watermark of some kind, depending on the theme.
Special Notes
Any special notes by the artist can be found here. They may suggest certain settings for the best appearance for your forum, such as a specified forum width or navigation bar justification. The artist may also specify a longer or shorter period that they will be willing to make edits for the buyer and other such information.
