What forum version do you use ?

So, what forum version do you use and what do you like about it ?


Me ; I personally like phpbb3 because it's very flexible, and easy to design and modify.

I use punBB because it's very easy to create a beautifull skin for it.

phpBB 2 is out of date. This is the reason why most people do not create codes for it.

I agree that it CAN be a pain to write scripts for phpbb2, but I usually try to manage so no version is left out.

You are correct.  There are some people who create codes for all versions.

I'm not expert for coding and stuff, but phpbb2 is just my personal preference because it looks sharp and with right design it can look really cool. But I also do like to use phpbb3. But not a fan of pun and invision.

phpbb2 was actually the first forum version I picked. I remember I started with a default theme from hitskin and then fixed it up to fit what I wanted. After awhile I finally decided to make the change over to phpbb3, because I found it easier to personalize with CSS. However, that was way back when phpbb3 didn't have template editing... so it was more of a downgrade when I thought about it.

phpbb2 isn't terrible, with the right creative mind you can make it look beautiful.

I've been using PunBB since 2013 and have just decided to switch to phpBB3. I can really see the different!

my first forum is invision the main one but i prefer the punbb which i choose for my second forum much easier and no problems with all turorials

I prefer phpBB3. I had 2 sites before and they were both phpBB3. I've been an admin on punBB and phpBB2 sites before and I didn't like it.

Since Forumotion allows template editing in phpBB 3 and Invision now, they are my favorite.

phpBB3. I don't know but ever since I saw Forumotion, I used the said version. I'm more comfortable in using it though.

I was using punbb, but now I am making a theme for phpbb3, it's really a cool experience than the thing I had with punbb.

I am using Punbb for all of my forum. I will never change platform.

I really like Punbb though, since a lot of people designed a lot of good themes for the version, but I'm using phpBB 3, and I look forward for better themes in phpBB 3.

Well phpBB 3 is like the original roots of Forumotion, and punBB and Invision are just two different things, I used them before, mainly because most of the popular or top hitskin themes are from both of those.

I used to use just one with was PHBB2 but now I have two forums that are in the PHBB3 version.

I use phpbb3, because i can edit my forum more than phpbb2
It' so easy editting the CSS in this version..
