[ALL] Address Bar Color for Chromium Browsers on Mobile Devices
Page 1 of 1 • Share
Hello everyone. Pardon that this is my first tutorial. However, with the ever growing Mobile phenomenon, it is necessary to have a good design for mobile devices. I found something interesting and extremely easy to do on FM forums, especially for Edge forums (because the design is awesome). This involves coloring the Address/Status Bar in Chromium-based browsers on Mobile Devices. This is a bit of a newly developing method to increase integration with browsers. I cannot believe the simplicity of it.
How to do this?
☞Modifiable field:
The value for "Content" can be any color you want it to be, but do use a hash/hex color for compatibility purposes.
*Anyone has any questions, let me know.
How to do this?
- Go to ACP > General > Forum Promotion > Search Engines.
- Press the add button at the bottom right to add a new META tag.
- The box should say "Create a "META" tag type." Press SELECT.
- In the editor, place the following in "name": theme-color
- Place the following in "Content": #3333CC
- Lastly, hit add. If you have a mobile device with a Chromium-based browser (Google Chrome for example), enter your web address, and test it out.

Thanks @Ange Tuteur!
@SLGray - I have not seen it done so, since many high rank websites have implemented this functionality. Since Metadata is the overall information about the data on the page, web services, search engines, and browsers can determine how to read the data. Honestly, I think it's a bit deceiving to display the meta tag editor under the Search Engines area on the ACP, because there is so much you can do that doesn't have to do with search engines on a FM forum.
According to W3Schools, "HTML5 introduced a method to let web designers take control over the viewport (the user's visible area of a web page), through the <meta> tag."
Even though FM forums struggle with some HTML5, there are certain characteristics that work really well.
