How to add avatar or icon before username?
Page 1 of 1 • Share
Once again.. There is no need to open a topic on FMD if you have already opened one on the ESF. And as numerous people in that thread mentioned, Ange will no longer be providing support for Forumotion related tutorials or questions - even if they are FAE related. It is unfortunate, but he needs a break. I'm sure that the members on ESF will be able to help you c:
@SLGray; he is using FAE, but starting Jan 1, 2017 Ange will not be providing much support for FAE either.. :c

@Mr.Alam Okay so I think I found a solution for your request.
Go to ACP > Users & Groups > Group Administration
Then, click on Create New Group and use the following settings:
Group Name: Members
Group Description: Up to you
Group Moderator: Up to you
Group Members Color: Pick any random color, this won't matter after the next step
Color Group Members: DO NOT click "Yes", leave it as it is
Group Order: Up to you
Group Status: Up to you
Permission to Send PM in Bulk: Up to you
Auto-subscribe? Yes (This will make every new member on your forum have the Icon)
Then just follow the same steps you followed to add a Crown to your Staff members and you're done ^^
The reason member names get bolded is because people choose to color group members. By not clicking on "Yes" you're leaving the names as they are, but still allow members to be part of that group.

Please tell us exactly what you want to do.
@Mr.Alam
Tell you what, copy and paste the code for placing icons before staff usernames, please. I will see if it's possible.
@Valoish - Hi there, hope you don't mind.
Hi there,
I can also help (unless it's out of my range, but that's unlikely):

@dr jay No worries c: The more people try to help the faster we may be able to solve this XD
And this is the code Ange made.
One way I was thinking of going about this is to make a JS that will apply the icon to members that are in a specific group, and to use the group ID found in the URL in that JS so it knows which group to target

Okay... @Valoish is right.
1. You need to make a group for all members to auto-subscribe when they are at 0-1 posts. Then, add in an icon before them as the other groups members do. You can make the group hidden if it makes it easier.
2. If you would like a different icon for each member, unfortunately, you have to do it manually. (I.E. create each hidden group, subscribe that specific member to it, and the icon is auto-applied).
{GAMBIT/TROUBLE: For each member's link,
is the code for each of them that are not subscribed to a group. The only time a member link changes is if they are in a group. Keep in mind that
is the same CSS code for all other links for the forum. So, if you attach an image to "a.link" - it is going to attach that same icon to each of them.}
3. Otherwise, you would have to attach an icon to each member ID, which would take impossibly too long, lest you have a small supply of members.
>>> Action to take: Decide what code you want from this list or what method you want to use, and then we can go from there.

@Mr.Alam Hi~
I'm currently at work so I can't sit and mess around with codes since my boss could walk by and see :I
I'll take a look at it when I'm off of work, unless Draxion solves it before me xD

@Ange Tuteur; Since this issue has been resolved on the ESF, this topic can be locked c:
