Ooh my pre-calc and calc professor showed us a problem similar to this~
I know the answer (and the process used to get to it) but I won't spoilll~
I know the answer (and the process used to get to it) but I won't spoilll~
y = n^3 + n. LOL
So for 5 it would be: 5^3 + 5 = 130
My professor gave us a similar one where it was uh.. y = n^2 + 4.
So the sequence went:
1 = 5
2 = 8
3 = 13
4 = 20
etcetc.
So for 5 it would be: 5^3 + 5 = 130
My professor gave us a similar one where it was uh.. y = n^2 + 4.
So the sequence went:
1 = 5
2 = 8
3 = 13
4 = 20
etcetc.
My thought..
1=02 that means 1 was multiplied by 2
2=10 that means 2 was multiplied by 5
3=30 that means 3 was multiplied by 10
4=68 that means 4 was multiplied by 17
so we see that the number that the first number was multiplied go like 3,5,7 so the next one should be 9.
Therefore, we have 17+9=26 that mas to be multiplied by 5.
So the result is: 5*26=130
So 130 is my answer.
Me neither.. lolValoish wrote:^ Ooh I didn't think of it that way @_@
You know you could use these right:
53 + 5 = 130
You can use the sub and sup tags for those..

Yeah I know xD But I typed that out on a phone (still am) so using the text editor features is annoyinggg x_xLuffy wrote:Me neither.. lolValoish wrote:^ Ooh I didn't think of it that way @_@

Thank you though~ :3
I really don't get this one, I have never even tackled this one during my Middle and High school level math subjects.
The only time I get encounter this mathematical question or problem is during entrance exams, mainly at High School and College, and I'm not even sure if I got this specific math problem correct during the entrance exams back then.
Even looking at it right now, already pains me to realize, how I have no idea how to solve it

See how it goes
with Bodmas, multiplication comes before addition
1 x 1 + 12 = 2
see how it goes
12 = 1
1 x (1 + 1)
1 x 2 = 2
So the formula works for the below
2 x 2 + 22 = 10
3 x 3 + 32 = 30
4 x 4 + 42 = 68
5 x 5 + 52 = 130
Therefore
130
with Bodmas, multiplication comes before addition
1 x 1 + 12 = 2
see how it goes
12 = 1
1 x (1 + 1)
1 x 2 = 2
So the formula works for the below
2 x 2 + 22 = 10
3 x 3 + 32 = 30
4 x 4 + 42 = 68
5 x 5 + 52 = 130
Therefore
130
