Hey, I was wondering if it was possible to install a code in the chatbox where you can alert someone and it would either send a PM to that person or notification. Is that possible?

I haven't been familiar with the default FM chatbox for ages now, but from what I learned it's a pain sending notifications through chat. I'm using a 3rd party chatbox and that chat does have the ability to send PMs by clicking the username in chat or private chat tabs as well if that's what you're looking for.

What kind of alerts were you looking for?

Thank you for the response, but some kind of code to where you can alert someone to get in the chatbox.

Like "/[Some code] [Username]" and then when that is sent, it sends the username you specify a PM or notification saying "You are needed in the chatbox" or something of that nature.

Ah, I see now. The forum PM system. No, that feature doesn't exist yet and I very much doubt it 'll ever work the way you want it. But you could try and request it with FM or a third party provider. I don't think @Ange Tuteur will be able to build it for you.

I'm using a 3rd party chat that allows me to click a user in chat and select 'Send a PM' option, which then opens the (forum's) mailbox so I can type and send any message to any forum member from thereon. A bit of an indirect way, but still I won't need to go back to the forum and select the inbox etc. through all kinds of menus.

You're welcome. If you like I can send you a link to a 3rd party cb provider that 'll allow you to send him such feature requests, or you can try and make your own code work on it. It's the same cb I'm using.

This is the site where you can request such feature. It's their main site:

http://avacweb.forumotion.co.uk/

You may find yourself the installation and development guides on here:

Better try it on a test forum first. http://chat.avacweb.net/install

Is this solved then?
