So this problem has gone viral in Japan, after a study discovered that only 60 percent of 20-somethings could actually solve it. Now it's on the news and social media. Let's see who knows their math c;
Tbh I don't understand why this is so hard? ; A; RIP Japan.. They're meant to have the toughest schooling system what even.

((((SQRT(74^7) / (1/4 / 16 x pi^pi)) / (74.7 x 4/16) - pi) + (7 x SQRT(7-47^7^4)^7)) x 0^7.47 = ? >> And... why? <<
HINT: If your calculator keeps resetting the equation all the time, get yourself an improved version or just start over again until you get it (or get hit by it)

Rule of Bodmas
so we take up the division sign first.
9 - 3 x 3/1 + 1 = ?
9 - 9/1 + 1 = ?
Note that 9/1 = 9
therefore,
9 - 9 + 1 =?
Now, we take up the Addition sign according to BODMAS
9 - 10 = ?
Answer = -1
9 - 3 ÷ 1/3 + 1 = ?

Why? Doesn't matter what it says. Everything multiplied by 0, like the (((((SQRT(74^7) / (1/4 / 16 x pi^pi)) / (74.7 x 4/16) - pi) + (7 x SQRT(7-47^7^4)^7)) x 0^7.47 = ?
equals 0. Since the equation is in brackets everything applies to 0, even the ^7.47 (0x0x0x0x0x0x0x.47) = 0. Hence, 0 x 1/4 of or 2,000,000 times 0 a pie is still nothing! 0 x 5 seats reservated in a 747 = no seats reservated at all. 0 flights out of 1,107 leaving Amsterdam Schiphol Airport each day = 0 flights taking off that day from Amsterdam.
Saved my day once in school and it'll save yours one day I'm sure, so please remember to always read over the equeation (twice?) first before replying to it! Something x 0 = 0, remember! You won't be needing sophisicated programs or calculators to solve it once you know and understand!

Yeah c: My teacher called it "Keep, change, flip". So basically you keep the first number, change the sign/operation to the opposite of what it currently is, and then flip over the fraction :BHaeDoesGraphics wrote:OHHHHHHH YEP!

If you divide by any number, it's the same as multiplying by the reciprocal of said number [the reciprocal is the number with a one over it (with fractions the numerator is switched with the denominator)].
Dividing by ⅓ is the same as multiplying by 3.
So this would be 9.
Dividing by ½ is the same as multiplying by 2.
So this would be 6.
