PunBB v PhpBB3

I'm planning to switch to phpbb3, and please tell it's worth it.

In your opinion, how can phpbb3 be greater than punbb?

To be honest they both have their perks. PunBB was designed to be fast and graphically lightweight, and considering that this version had template editing way before phpbb3 means that it has a lot more custom modifications. Phpbb3 is an improvement of phpbb2 which is more flexible than its ancestor, being that it has a lot more classes to work with in CSS, although now that it has template editing you can have full control over the design.

They're pretty much on equal footing in regards to CSS and template editing. My recommendation would be to test out each version to see what works for you. For me, I prefer phpbb3, because it's one of the versions I've worked with for awhile, plus I like the layout.
