My idea is this: users who speak for unregistered (guests) by default have no nameplate. Through the admin panel you can not assign it. This tutorial will allow you to add a label to the guests.

The template to edit is: viewtopic_body

You have to try this part:

Code:
<dd>{postrow.displayed.POSTER_RANK_NEW}{postrow.displayed.RANK_IMAGE}</dd>

Immediately after you have to add this code:

Code:
<dd><script>if ("{postrow.displayed.POSTER_RANK_NEW}"=="Ospite<br />") {document.write('<img src="LINK"/>');}</script></dd>

(Depending on the language of the forum you will need to change the word "Ospite")

Otherwise you can use this code: (insert a plate to who has none)

Code:
<dd><script>if ("{postrow.displayed.RANK_IMAGE}"=="") {document.write('NO RANGO');}</script></dd>

What do you think? You feel that this tutorial we could improve?

Exactly when guests can post on a forum, they have to enter an username.

I believe you are referring to a member who has unsubscribed from a forum. When this happens, all the posts by that member changes to guest.

No no, it's irrelevant the nickname that is chosen by the guest Smile

The javascript code checks the contents of the alt code of the plate. If alt="NAME" is the same as alt="guest", it's inserted the plate for the unregistered user.
