After some testing, I believe the issue is with the new Firefox update (49.0.1).

Fx49 seems to be a real problem.. but yet again I didn't encounter this problem on my version of Firefox..

Either they released a bugged patch to everyone and then patched the patch without sending out an update, or something seriously wonky is going on.

I'd uninstall completely (remove all files for FF) and then re-install and see if it works.

Issue solved by removing forum from the preprod server.
